MG Hector To Get Additional CVT Option Launch On February 11

Currently, the Hector is offered with a 170PS 2.0-litre diesel engine and a 143PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual as standard, with the petrol motor getting a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic. The turbo-petrol manual engine also gets the option of a 48v mild-hybrid system. Like the Wuling Almaz, the CVT will be offered with the petrol motor only, and could be sold alongside the DCT option.

Since the DCT variants of the MG Hector are offered in the Smart and top-spec Sharp variants, it wouldn't be a surprise if the CVT variants follow the same route. The only difference being, the CVT would be more affordable than the DCT priced from Rs 16.52 lakh to Rs 18.10 lakh (ex-showroom). Currently, the DCT variants carry a premium of Rs 1 lakh and Rs 1.24 lakh over their manual counterparts.

The MG Hector retails from Rs 12.90 lakh to Rs 18.43 lakh (ex-showroom). It rivals the.
