Citroen C5 Aircross Revealed All Details Covered In 10 Images

French car manufacturer. It's being assembled at the carmaker's Thiruvallur plant and will initially be retailed via the La Maison Citroandeuml;n showrooms across India. The French SUV will be offered in a couple of fully loaded variants. Here are all the details:

  • The twin-slat Citroen grille and slim split-LED headlamps ooze French flair.

  • The bumpers feature LED fog lamps and contrasting grey inserts around the air dams.

  • Unfortunately, the sporty red inserts from the international car aren't offered here.

  • The rounded curves and lines make the C5 Aircross look more crossover rather than SUV.

  • The body cladding makes it look tough while the 235/55 R18 dual-tone alloy wheels fill the large wheel arches nicely. Kudos to Citroen for providing a full-size spare wheel.

  • The A-, B- and C-pillars have been blacked out to give it a floating-roof effect.

  • One can opt for a dual-tone option with a black roof for a sportier look.

  • The rear-end comes with LED tail lamps, which mimic the split headlamps layout with oval design detailing.

  • The generous dose of body cladding on the rear bumpers looks tough.

  • The keen-eyed will also notice the dual exhausts which peek out via the bumper.

  • The split-AC vents and the Yacht-style gear level exude a sense of French quirkiness.

  • Even the steering wheel with its square-centre pad looks unique. It also gets chunky paddle shifters if you want to take matters into your own hands.

  • The central console is dominated by an 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

  • The 12.3-inch digital driver's display features three different views: personal, dual and minimum modes.

Notable features include a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, seats with memory foam for added comfort, ambient lighting, air purifier, powered driver's seat, cruise control, and a powered tailgate.

Safety is covered by six airbags, ABS with EBD, parking sensors, electronic stability control, and a blind spot monitoring system. It also comes with a grip control system with five modes: Snow, Sand, All Terrain, Standard, and Traction Control Off.

  • In its standard mode, the C5 Aircross' boot is capable of accommodating 580 litres of luggage.

  • Reclining the rear seats forwards will take it up to 780 litres and folding them down will reveal a massive 1,630-litre boot Perfect to shift houses then.

  • The rear seats feature three individual chairs for better comfort. After all, Citroen is known for comfort.

  • The C5 Aircross is powered by a locally assembled 2.0-litre diesel engine that develops 177PS of power and 400Nm of torque.

  • It will drive its front wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission.

  • Citroen cars are known for their cushy ride quality and the C5 Aircross will be no different, with the carmaker's 'Progressive Hydraulic Cushion' suspension system.

The C5 Aircross, which could be priced around Rs 28 lakh (ex-showroom), has all the right bells and whistles to woo Indian car buyers. However, the carmaker should have offered it in more variants to lower the entry-level price. That said, the limited dealership network in the country may not work in its favour.
