BMW updates 3 Series line-up in India
The BMW 3 Series for India has been updated for the 2021 model year. While the German brand recently introduced the BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine – its first-ever right-hand drive long-wheelbase version of the 3 Series – at the lower end of the line-up, the BMW 320d Sport has been taken off the shelf for the second time. It was earlier discontinued in March 2020 and re-launched in August 2020.

- 330i continues to be offered in the entry-level Sport and top-spec M Sport trims
2021 BMW 3 Series diesel range in India
The discontinuation of the 320d Sport has resulted in only one diesel engine variant of the 3 Series remaining in BMW’s India line-up – the 320d Luxury Line. The 320d is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine producing 190hp and 400Nm of torque, and is mated to an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The 320d Luxury Line is priced at Rs 47.9 lakh.
2021 BMW 3 Series petrol range in India
There is a petrol engine on offer with the 3 Series as well; a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine producing 258hp and 400Nm of torque. The 330i can be had in two trim levels – Sport and M Sport. Like the 320d, the 330i’s engine is mated to an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Prices for the 330i start from Rs 42.6 lakh for the Sport, and go up to Rs 49.9 lakh for the M sport.
2021 BMW 3 Series competition check
Just this year, the segment that the BMW 3 Series contends in against the Mercedes-Benz C-class (Rs 41.31-54.25 lakh) and Jaguar XE (Rs 46.64-48.50 lakh), has expanded with two new rivals. The petrol-only Audi A4 (Rs 42.34-46.67 lakh) made its return to our market and the new-gen Volvo S60 (Rs 45.90 lakh) has also just been introduced.
