FIA F3 Asia 2021 Championship Decoding The Tech Involved In The Formula 3 Asia Championship

Formula 3 is a one-make championship, with the entire grid running identical cars. The Formula 3 Asia Championship uses the Autotecnica Motori-built ATM AR-F3R engine, a 270hp, four-cylinder turbocharged Alfa Romeo 1750 TBi engine with a total capacity of 1742cc. It is housed in a Tatuus F3 chassis, featuring side impact panels, front and rear carbon impact structures, wheel tethers, an extractable seat, and the new Halo system.
The ATM AR-F3R is an aluminium alloy, four-cylinder, in-line turbocharged Double VVT (inlet and exhaust) engine with drive-by-wire. It produces 270HP at 6000rpm and a maximum torque of 350Nm at 4500rpm.
The Tatuus F.3 T-318 is a carbon composite monocoque, with the Halo, carbon composite front, rear and side cashbox, an FIA Homologated steering column and roll-hoop, extractable seat with a Sabelt six-point safety harness, Hans system, OMP electrically operated extinguisher, removable head protection, and a Premier FIA FT5 Fuel cell. The whole of the bodywork and wings are made of carbon fibre.
An LCD dash integrated with the steering wheel, complete with Magneti Marelli paddle shifters and a Sadev SL-R 82 6-speed gearbox, rounds off the Formula 3 car's cockpit. Magneti Marelli also handles all the data collection through its SRG 140 ECU.
A double-wishbone suspension in a twin shock layout, adjustable for camber and toe, with a KONI 2-way damper and an Eibach spring, completes your front and rear suspension. The rear is adjustable for camber, toe, roll-centre, and anti-squat. A 4-piston Brembo Monolithic calliper with Pagid brake pads, along with a 26m Brembo disk help with all the braking. 10x13" OZ Aluminium front and 12x13" on the rear complete the wheels, suspension, and braking setup.
Needless to say that all the tech that goes into a car running in an FIA-certified series will be homologated by the FIA.
