2021 Tata Safari Interior Images A Detailed Look At What The Three-Row SUVs Cabin Has To Offer

Tata has finally taken the covers off the new-gen Safari. After different codenames and a lot of hype, the company finally revealed the three-row SUV based on the and poised to claim the Safari badge. So, what does it look like on the inside? Is it just a Harrier with an extra row of seats, or is there more to the cabin? Let's find out:

The Safari gets a new black-white colour scheme, with an ash-wood trim on the centre console. The layout of the dashboard, however, remains the same as that of the Harrier.

The SUV retains all the Harrier's features, including the 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. However, what it gets more is connected car tech with Hinglish commands.

The large panoramic sunroof from the Harrier has been retained. It lets in a lot of light and makes the cabin airier.

The Safari also gets the same 7-inch coloured, semi-digital instrument cluster from the Harrier, but with an additional tyre pressure monitor. You get all the information like the tachometer, fuel efficiency, range, and engine temperature.

The 320W JBL sound system with four tweeters, four speakers, and a subwoofer sounds crisp.

The added ambient lighting will spruce up the overall cabin experience, especially at night.

The aircraft-style parking brake from the Harrier has been thankfully replaced by an electronic parking brake with auto-hold function. Easier to operate, we say. Safety features include up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill descent control, parking sensors with a camera, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.

Like the Harrier, the Safari will offer three drive modes -- Eco, Sport, and City, coupled with three terrain modes -- Normal, Wet, and Rough.

The driver's side seat is six-way power-adjustable, and finding your driving position is easy. We hope ventilated seats are part of the package. Also, there is more to the three rows of seating. The SUV offers the option of a 6-seat and 7-seat configuration. This means the middle-row seats will be provided with either captain seats or bench seats.

What's more, the Safari features a 'Boss Mode', which allows the left-side occupant to push the front seat with the help of a lever.

The third row gets its own AC unit with blower controls and USB charging ports.

The Safari offers a boot space of 73 litres. With the third row folded, the boot space is 447 litres.

Under the hood, the Safari houses a 170PS 2.0-litre diesel engine mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Also, this is the first time an automatic option has been offered in the Safari.

For now, the SUV will only feature a front-wheel drive. However, an AWD variant could be offered later depending on the demand.

Prices are set to be announced by mid-February. We expect it to retail between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 21 lakh (ex-showroom). It will lock horns with the .
