Back at the, Pininfarina had taken the wraps off the Battista in near-production form. This all-electric hypercar comes with oodles of performance and the beautiful Pininfarina design philosophy. Deliveries were slated to commence this year until COVID-19 postponed proceedings. Since then, the carmaker has continued the development of the hypercar. It has now completed its first high speed handling test at the 12.6km Nardandograve; Technical Centre in Italy.
The tests involved the carmaker fine tuning the hypercar's various chassis settings and drive modes. The hypercar's racing-inspired Brembo CCMR carbon-ceramic brakes, torque vectoring, aerodynamics as well as the double-wishbone suspension components, forged aluminium wheels and torsion bars were also tested. Speaking of drive modes, the Battista gets five: Calma, Pura, Energica, Furiosa and Carattere.
The main talking point of the Battista is, of course, its all-electric powertrain. Powered by four electric motors and juiced up by a 120 kWh battery, the hypercar boasts a combined total of 1900PS grunt and 2300Nm twist. Combined with all-wheel-drive, the Battista achieves a 0-100kmph sprint time in less than 2 seconds with a top speed of 350kmph.
Performance aside, it gets a clean and elegant design with a bonkers aero kit that has become the norm for most hypercar manufacturers. The infotainment will also be feature loaded with connected tech and over-the-air updates (OTA).
Only 150 units of the Pininfarina Battista will be hand made in Cambiano, Italy, with each unit costing a sky high USD 3.13 million. Deliveries of the hypercar will commence in 2021.
