Fiat Chrysler Automobiles To Set Up A Global Digital Hub In Hyderabad

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, also known as FCA, has announced it will be setting up a new global digital hub in Hyderabad, Telangana. This is FCA's largest global digital hub outside of North America and EMEA. FCA's new Indian ops, called FCA ICT, will be set up at an estimated cost of around Rs 1,102 crore.

FCA ICT will mainly focus on the development of connected car suites, artificial intelligence, data acceleration and cloud technologies. The latest development will help FCA expand its relationships with its partners. The company says it will create around 1,000 jobs in the country in the coming years.

Commenting on the latest development, Dr. Partha Datta, President and Managing Director of FCA India, said, "FCA ICT India will be our technology backbone that will not only help us develop products for future mobility but will also sharpen our efforts to enhance customer-centricity. This is a significant step forward in realising our vision to make our Indian operations more capable to develop digitally driven products and technologies locally for India and also for the world."

Coming to FCA's upcoming product strategy, the manufacturer will launch the in early-2021. A more practical 7-seater version of the Compass will follow suit. The facelifted Compass gets minor exterior tweaks and a revamped cabin with a floating infotainment system. We expect it to be priced around the Rs 16.5 lakh mark (ex-showroom).
