Nissan Magnite Sub-4 Metre SUV India Launch Tomorrow Engines Features Pricing More

After a lengthy period between the sub-4metre SUV in India tomorrow. The carmaker has already commenced unofficial pre-bookings, with customer test drives also starting on December 2, the day of the launch. Bold Stance

Thankfully, the production-spec Magnite looks very similar to its concept iteration, which translates into one of the sportiest looking SUVs in the segment. Notable highlights include a large Datsun-like front grille, with sleek LED projector headlamps, L-shaped LED DRLs as well as LED fog lamps. Adding to its athletic stance are the aggressive wheel arches with dual-tone 16-inch alloy wheels. It also retains the concept's swanky looking taillamps and a butch rear bumper.

You also get the option of five monotone colours: red, white, brown, silver, black and three dual-tone shades: blue/white, red/black, and white/black to choose from.

Loaded To The Brim

The Magnite will be packed with features like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with segment-first wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car tech, 7-inch digital driver display, climate control, cruise control and steering mounted audio controls. An optional tech pack adds in a JBL sound system, ambient lighting, wireless phone charger, puddle lamps, and an air purifier. Safety isn't compromised with bits like dual airbags, ABS + EBD, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitor and a 360-degree camera with rear parking sensors. That said, it does miss out on a sunroof and ventilated seats, which are present in rival models like the Kia Sonet.

Powertrains

Nissan will offer two petrol engines for the Magnite, the first a 72PS/96Nm 1.0-litre naturally aspirated motor and the other a 100PS/160Nm 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine (152Nm in CVT). Both can be had with a 5-speed manual transmission, with a CVT gearbox exclusive to the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine.

Prices And Variants

from what seems to be a dealer event reveal that the Magnite could be priced from Rs 5.50 lakh to Rs 9.55 lakh (ex-showroom). If these prices are realistic, the Magnite could become the most affordable sub-4 metre SUV when it goes on sale. What is confirmed is that the Magnite will be offered in five variants: XE, XL, XV, XV Premium and XV Premium (O).
