Upcoming Mercedes-Benz EQE EV EQS Luxury Sedan and EQS Electric SUV Prototypes Teased

The electric vehicle bandwagon is gaining steam and many manufacturers are bringing in products in the booming segment. One such carmaker is in the country on October 8. But that's not the only electric car from the carmaker as Mercedes is working on not one, but three new EVs that will be launched globally from 2021 onwards.
The three new upcoming Mercedes-Benz EVs are the EQE, EQS and EQS SUV. As the names suggest, the EQE sedan will be the equivalent of the. The final production-spec design of these vehicles are yet to be seen. But Mercedes has already previewed the EQS's design in the form of the Vision S concept while the other two could bear some resemblance to their ICE counterparts.
All three models will be underpinned by Mercedes' new EVA platform dedicated purely to Merc's larger EVs. The exact technical specifications are yet to come to light, though, Mercedes' EVA platform supports powertrains up to 680PS of power and a WLTP-claimed range (Worldwide harmonized Light vehicles Test Procedures) of more than 700km.
All three EVs could drive all four wheels and will feature fast charging. Speaking of which, Mercedes has also said that the EQS will offer a driving range of around 250km within 15 minutes of fast charging.
So now to the exciting bit: the possible debut date for all three EVs. Christoph Starzynski, Head of Mercedes' group electric vehicle architecture, has revealed that the EQE and EQS sedans will see daylight in 2021. The EQS sedan will be the first to be revealed and is in its last stages of testing before it makes it to series production. The EQS SUV, on the other hand, will be revealed in 2022. All three EVs are likely to be offered in India considering Mercedes' aggressive product strategy in the market. Stay tuned for more updates in this space.
