When, it was offered in the standard and S variants that were priced at Rs 69.98 lakh and 83.95 lakh respectively (ex-showroom). Well there's more in store as the carmaker is set to introduce the spicier GTS and Turbo variants of the Macan in India. Both these variants are listed in the official website as well.
The GTS variant was introduced globally in. The former is a middle-order Macan, whereas the Turbo is the creme de la creme of the Macan lineup. Here's what the two Macan variants get over their standard and S counterparts:
Macan GTS
This mid-spec Macan certainly boasts a decent step up from the Macan S with a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine pushing 380PS of power and 520Nm of torque, paired to a 7-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox. 0-100kmph is achieved in 4.7 seconds and it tops out at 261kmph with the Sport Chrono package. There's also adaptive air suspension, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) damping control system, as well as a chassis that is 15mm lower than the lower-spec Macan variants.
Performance aside, there's also design improvements like black accents on the front grille, rear diffuser and exhausts and 20-inch Spyder design wheels. Other highlights include Alcantara interior trims, a Bose surround sound system, adaptive cruise control that includes Traffic Jam Assist, Park Assist and a rear camera with surround view. A heated windscreen can also be had as an option.
Macan Turbo
We finally get to the cream of the crop, the Macan Turbo. It is the most powerful Macan money can buy, with a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 engine delivering a beefy 434PS of grunt and 550Nm of twist. Paired with the famed PDK gearbox (7-speed), the SUV propels from 0-100kmph in 4.3 seconds and 4.1 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono package. Top speed is rated at 268kmph.
You also get bits like Porsche Surface Coated Brakes (PSCB) from the Cayenne, a sport exhaust system for peak eargasms, 20-inch wheels and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) dampers as standard. Optional bits include Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB), height-adjustable air suspension and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV +).
Other differences from its lower end Macan counterparts include three large air intakes with LED fog lights above them, side skirts and different exterior mirrors. Inside, you're treated to Alcantara roof liner, 18-way adaptive sport seats and a Bose 14-speaker surround sound system along with everything from the other Macan variants.
As things stand, there's no word on when the spicier GTS or Turbo variants will be introduced to the India-spec Macan's lineup, but it's likely to come later this year. Also expat a hefty premium considering the differences especially on the performance side. The Porsche Macan currently rivals the.
