Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe India Launch On November 3 It Will Be Assembled In India
- Mercedes-AMG's facelifted GLC 43 Coupe to launch on November 3.
- It will be priced around Rs 80 lakh, Rs 20 lakh less than what it would cost if it were imported.
- It will be powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 pushing out 390PS and 520Nm.
- Its only rival in India is the Porsche Macan S priced at Rs 85.03 lakh.
Yet another AMG is set to be launched in the coming days. It will be the first AMG to be assembled in India meaning it will come with a more affordable price tag. Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to, set to be launched on November 3.
Mercedes has already hinted at a price tag of around Rs 80 lakh, making it Rs 17.30 lakh more expensive than the standard GLC coupe priced from Rs 62.70 lakh (ex-showroom). We're pretty sure you can convince your family to get one for the extra premium. If Mercedes were to import a fully built model, it would have retailed for around Rs 1 crore.
But coming back to the facelifted GLC 43, it features similar styling upgrades as the facelifted GLC coupe, albeit with AMG DNA. The standard model's twin-slat grille has been traded in for AMG's Panamericana slatted grille while the muscular bumpers scream attitude. The main highlight is the silhouette with the sloping roofline which is complemented by the AMG-spec forged alloy wheels.
The interior layout is similar to the pre-facelifted GLC coupe. However, Mercedes' latest tech, in the form of its brilliant MBUX infotainment system and digital dials, will make its presence felt. Other upgrades over the standard GLC include sportier front seats with thicker side bolsters and a flat-bottom steering wheel.
Under the hood sits a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol heart that thumps out 390PS of power and 520Nm of torque, 23PS more than before. Power is sent to all four corners via Mercedes' 9-speed automatic transmission. It's also mighty quick, doing 0-100kmph in 4.9 seconds and maxing out at 250kmph (electronically limited).
The Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 Coupe's main rival is the priced at Rs Rs 85.03 lakh for the drool-worthy V6 variant. Mercedes could grab a slice of the Macan's pie if the GLC's price undercuts the Porsche.
