The Innova Crysta has been around since 2016 and is up for a mid-life update.
-
The spied model sees cosmetic upgrades to the front.
-
It is expected to retain its 2.7-litre petrol and 2.4-litre diesel engines.
-
Will probably arrive by early 2021.
The facelifted Toyota Innova Crysta has now been spied in Indonesia after we last saw s of its design. Toyata's flagship MPV is expected to feature the same updates when it arrives in India by early 2021.
In these spy shots, the first difference that is visible is the redesigned grille. A slatted version replaces the outgoing model's dual chrome bars along with a more prominent Toyota badge. The new model also gets a chrome border around the grille.
Another new element will be the machined alloy wheels whereas the rear remains largely unchanged. With the facelift, the Innova Crysta is set to get a few additions to its feature list, such as a bigger touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and connected car technology.
Under the hood, the Innova Crysta is expected to be powered by the same set of engines as before: a 2.7-litre petrol and a 2.4-litre diesel. Both are mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
While the Innova Crysta had spent the majority of its life sitting in a comfortable spot with no direct rivals, it has now started feeling the heat from three-row SUVs like the MG Hector Plus and the Tata Gravitas. We can expect the facelifted version to carry a premium over the outgoing Innova Crysta's Rs 15.66 lakh to Rs 24.67 lakh (ex-showroom).
