Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended The Next-Gen Ghosts Long Wheelbase Option Revealed

  • The Ghost Extended is the long wheelbase option for the next-gen Ghost.

  • It will feature the same creature comforts and design aside from the added luxury afforded by the increased wheelbase.

  • It will be powered by the same 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12 engine that puts out 571PS in the standard Ghost.

Rolls-Royce has revealed a long wheelbase option for its, for lack of a better term... entry-level sedan, the . Dubbed the Ghost Extended, it offers extra rear cabin space for that extra boost in the luxury meter.

Just like its standard counterpart, the Ghost Extended will be underpinned by the same aluminium space frame architecture. It will offer the same blend of minimalism and modernity that the standard version offers over its decade-old predecessor.

Over the standard Ghost, the LWB version will offer a wheelbase longer by 170mm, giving it the most legroom in its class and second only to the Phantom Extended. Aside from the longer wheelbase, the Ghost Extended is also longer and wider, at 5716mm and 2148mm respectively.

The rear seats feature something they call Rear Suite Serenity, one of its main creature comforts. It draws inspiration from the luxurious seats of a private jet in terms of comfort and reclining ability of the seats. Modernity is present in the form of digital gauges, a heads up display, on-board Wi-Fi, and, if you're a fan of the bubbly, a champagne fridge right between the reclining rear seats.

It will get the same new laser LED headlights which provide a visibility of upto 600m, along with revised air intakes, restyled wheels, smoother rear roofline, and the works. It will also get electronically opening and closing doors to minimise the effort of ingress and egress.

The Ghost Extended will get the same engine as the standard model: a 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12. This is capable of producing 571PS and 850Nm and will be paired to a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission. Like the standard model, it can go from 0-100 kmph in just 4.8 seconds. Luxurious, yes, but definitely quick too.

Overall, both the standard and the LWB models are the same aside from the increased rear cabin space. Since the current-gen Ghost is no longer on sale in India, we can expect the next-gen model along with the Ghost Extended to make it here soon since Rolls Royce does import its cars into the country. It will take on the -Maybach.
