Hyundai i20 2020 Gets A Sporty Addition To Its Lineup The N Line

Hyundai has unveiled a sporty N Line trim for the India-bound third-gen i20, which was unveiled in February 2020. While this is just a trim for the standard model, the i20 N hot-hatch is also in the works, last . The N Line trim gets interior and exterior cosmetic updates which lean towards the sportier side.

In terms of looks, the N-Line gets a lot of eye candy compared to the standard version. Based on the same Sensuous Sportiness design architecture, it gets an aggressive fascia. The cascading black grille is said to mimic a chequered flag, and also features the N Line badge. Even the rear gets a sporty rear bumper, uber-cool tail lights and a chrome twin-exhaust muffler system.

To add to the sportiness, grey accents and character lines run across the entire exterior. Four colour options will be provided along with a dual-tone version. The sportier looking hatch will get unique 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels compared to the standard model.

Inside, expect the cabin layout to be similar to the standard version, save for N Line badging stamped across the seats, dashboard and steering wheel. Along with metal pedals, red accents can be found on the steering wheel, the leather-wrapped gear lever knob and on the stitching of the seat upholstery.

Like the standard i20, the N Line will get the latest version of Hyundai's BlueSense connected car technology, SmartSense technology, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ambient lighting, and wireless charging.

The N Line gets both the engine optionss of the Euro-spec modell -- a 84PS 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.0-litre T-GDI turbo petrol engine in two states of tune: 100PS and 120PS. The 100PS version of the latter gets the option of 48V mild-hybrid technology whereas it is standard for the 120PS state of tune. Transmission options will see the inclusion of Hyundai-Kia's new intelligent manual transmission (iMT) along with 7-speed DCT and manual.

While we don't expect the i20 N Line or the yet-to-be revealed i20 N to make it to India anytime soon, the upcoming Elite i20 should get a Sport/Turbo trim seen here in the Verna, Venue and Creta. The standard version of the i20's latest iteration is due to see a launch date anytime now It is expected to carry a slight premium over the outgoing petrol-only model which retails from Rs 5.60 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards and locks horns with the .
