Looks like as the carmaker dropped a couple of surprise teasers on their social media handles with details to be revealed on September 2. As things stand there's no clear indication as to what's coming for the Nexon, but it seems to be veering towards a limited-edition variant likely to be based on the XZ variant or even feature updates to the Nexon.

The Nexon in the teaser images doesn't look any different to the one that's currently on sale with similar bits as the XZ variant like dual-barrel projector headlamps featuring integrated LED daytime running lights (DRLs), new fog lamp housing and revised LED taillamps. Feature highlights for the XZ variant includes cooled and illuminated glove box, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering mounted controls, multi-drive modes, manual climate control as well as traction control, hill assist and electronically adjustable auto-fold ORVMs.

Under the hood, the Nexon is powered by 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines. The former makes 120PS and 170Nm whereas the diesel motor develops 110PS and 260Nm. Both engines are paired to a 6-speed manual/AMT.

Currently, Tata retails the Nexon from Rs 6.99 lakh to Rs 12.40 lakh (ex-showroom) in upto six variants on offer: XE, XM, XZ, XZ+, XZ+(S) and XZ+(O). If there is an additional variant, expect it to be based on the XZ variant. Rivals include the.
