Ford Endeavour Receives 23-litre EcoBoost Turbo-Petrol Engine In China

  • New petrol engine makes 275PS of power and 455Nm of torque.
  • It also gets a new 10-speed automatic that replaces the 6-speed automatic.

China is one of the few markets where the (also known as the Everest) gets a petrol option. Its 2.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine produced 247PS and 360Nm. And now, the carmaker has replaced that with a 2.3-litre EcoBoost turbocharged petrol engine.

This new petrol mill produces 275PS of power and 455Nm of torque. This is around 28PS and 95Nm more than the engine it replaces. Besides, a new 10-speed automatic transmission replaces the 6-speed automatic transmission. 4WD is retained as an optional feature.

It is unlikely to get a petrol engine option anytime soon. But we can expect this to be part of the next-gen Endeavour, which is likely to debut in international markets by 2021 and in India by 2022.
