Select Jawa dealers resume operations
Jawa India has made an announcement stating that select dealerships and service centres have resumed operations in India. Closed during the national lockdown that began in March, these dealerships have raised their shutters after the Government relaxed a few lockdown norms on May 4. Jawa says that there are strict safety measures in place at these dealerships, adhering to the Government mandated rules.
In order to maintain social distancing, customers can visit dealerships only on the basis of a prior appointment. Thermal scanners are in place at the entrance to screen employees and visitors. Besides this, Jawa has also instructed dealerships to regularly sanitise their premises as well as the display and test ride vehicles. The service centres will also be sanitised often, and social distancing will be practiced.
Jawa is also offering doorstep test rides and vehicle delivery. Other steps taken to ensure minimal human contact include digital documentation and digital support through WhatsApp, email, and phone calls.
As the auto sector limps back to normalcy, we expect more dealerships to resume operations as it has become crucial for businesses to survive. With Lockdown 3.0 set to conclude on May 17, many auto dealerships are hoping for further relaxations, albeit with strict health and safety protocols in place. Maintaining hygiene, wearing face masks and regular sanitisation are the new normal, as India moves towards ending the lockdown. Stay tuned for more updates.
