Facelifted SsangYong Tivoli Revealed With Mahindras 12-litre mStallion Engine

• Gets a revised front end, new wheels, and new tail lamps on the outside.
• Equipment upgrades consist of an updated infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.
• Aside from the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol mill, it is also powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.6-litre diesel engine.
• Mahindra is unlikely to give the XUV300 a mid-life update anytime soon.

The SsangYong Tivoli SUV that the is based on has got a midlife update globally after its debut in South Korea last year. It gets a host of upgrades inside and out, with the highlight being that it borrows one of Mahindra's mStallion engines that was revealed at Auto Expo 2020 earlier this year.

This 1.2-litre mStallion turbo-petrol engine (borrowed from the upcoming) produces 128PS of power and 230Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The two remaining engine options for the Tivoli are a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol making 163PS/280Nm and a 1.6-litre diesel mill that delivers 136PS/324Nm. These two engines also get a 6-speed automatic transmission as an option.

Updates on the outside include a sharper front end consisting of new LED headlamps with LED DRLs, a dual-tone bumper, and vertically stacked triple LED fog lamps. It also gets new 18-inch alloys and revised LED tail lamps.

The upgrades continue on the inside with features like an updated 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Other notable features are dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, and keyless stop/start.

While Mahindra isn't expected to update the XUV300 anytime soon, we're sure to get the feistier 1.2-litre turbo-petrol mill with the XUV300 Sportz. Unfortunately, its expected launch in April 2020 was.
