, Porsche has announced that the 911 Carrera S and 4S will get an optional 7-speed manual transmission. This will come as part of the Sport Chrono package.
The Sport Chrono package also includes a list of updates for those who want to rough it out in the sports car. The car gets a tyre temperature indicator and Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) which was first seen in the 911 Turbo S.
Talking about the Turbo S, the Carrera Series will borrow some features from its older sibling. Options like glass fittings will be available in the coupe models where different types of glass can be fitted based on performance or noise insulation. The standard upholstery from the Turbo S will be seen in both the convertible and coupe models of the Carrera Series.
On the performance and driving end, the German carmaker has made some updates to the technology aspect. The InnoDrive adaptive cruise control in the automatic variants will regulate speed according to speed limits, approaching corners, and vehicles in front. An optional Smartlift feature has been introduced in these models which when activated, will raise the nose of the car over bumps and steep roads. The feature also has a GPS function which will automatically raise the front axle based on saved locations where it has been done before.
These updates will be available for all European markets and the pricing has not been announced for now.
